Inngame / Use cases

Comparison · Zendesk and Inngame

A Zendesk alternative for games

Zendesk is built to run a help desk for any kind of business. Inngame is built for one situation: a player stuck inside your game, on a phone, a Steam Deck or a browser tab, who needs an answer without leaving it. Here is where each one fits.

What Zendesk does well.

If you're comparing the two, you probably already know Zendesk. It's a mature product and a safe choice for many teams.

Every channel in one place

Email, web chat, messaging and phone end up in one ticket queue, with macros, triggers, SLAs and reporting that large support teams rely on.

A hosted help center

A public knowledge base with its own pages and search, which Google can index. Inngame has an FAQ searchable inside the chat, not a public help center.

SDKs, including Unity

Zendesk's messaging SDKs cover the web, iOS, Android and Unity. Its Unity guide lists requirements for Android and iOS builds, from Unity 2021 LTS.

Where games are different

A help desk sees a ticket. You need to see the game.

The hard part of player support isn't the queue. It's the first message: "it crashes", with no device, no version, no level, sometimes in a language nobody on the team reads.

The context comes with the message

Every message sent from an Inngame SDK carries the device, OS, app version and build, screen resolution, the current scene, the last 50 log lines and whatever game state you choose to send (level, coins, save slot). You read it on the first reply instead of asking for it.

Built for a gamepad, not only a mouse

The Unity SDK builds for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux. On PC and Steam Deck the chat is navigated with the gamepad: B closes, Y jumps to the text field, F8 takes a screenshot and opens the chat. Steam players can be identified with a ticket your server verifies.

Translation both ways, included

A player writes in Portuguese, your team reads English and answers in English, the player reads Portuguese. The chat interface comes in 25 languages. The Indie plan includes 20,000 translations a month.

Game actions from the conversation

Send a card that restores purchases, opens a screen of the game, asks for a store review or gives an item the player claims once. Admins refund Google Play and Stripe payments from the conversation and send Apple's refund sheet for App Store purchases.

The money part

What three people cost.

Say you're a three-person studio and everyone answers players now and then. On Zendesk Suite Team that's three agents: €165 a month billed yearly, before the AI add-on. On Inngame Indie it's €29 a month for the three seats, with AI replies and translation inside the plan.

The gap shrinks if you only need Zendesk's cheaper plans or a single agent. It grows when everyone on the team wants access, which is common in small studios where the developer who wrote the code is the best person to answer the bug report.

Be honest about fit

When to stay on Zendesk.

Zendesk is the better pick if…

Most of your volume arrives by email or phone. You have a support team with shifts, SLAs and a manager who lives in reports. You support hardware, a web shop and a game from one desk. Or you need a public help center that ranks on Google.

Inngame is the better pick if…

Players are your customers and they're inside the game when something goes wrong. The team is small and everyone helps. Players write in many languages. You want bug reports with logs, and refunds and gifts handled from the same conversation.

You don't have to choose. Many studios keep a help desk for email and press, and put Inngame inside the game. Inngame's signed webhooks (message.created, conversation.rated, bug.spike…) and REST API let you copy what you need wherever you want it.

FAQ

Questions

Is Inngame cheaper than Zendesk?

For a small team, usually. Inngame is priced per workspace: €29 a month for 3 seats on Indie, €99 for 15 seats on Studio, with AI replies and translation included. Zendesk is priced per agent; in November 2026 its Suite Team plan was €55 per agent per month billed yearly, and its Copilot AI add-on another €50 per agent.

Does Inngame handle email tickets or phone calls?

No. Inngame is a chat inside your game or app. Your team answers from the web inbox, Telegram or Discord. If you get a lot of email, keep a help desk for it and use Inngame in the game.

Does Zendesk have a Unity SDK?

Yes. Zendesk's messaging SDK for Unity adds its messaging and help center screens to a Unity app; its getting-started guide lists Android and iOS requirements and Unity 2021 LTS or later. Inngame's Unity SDK runs on Unity 2022 LTS and Unity 6, on mobile and on Windows, macOS, Linux and Steam, with gamepad navigation.

Can I use Inngame and Zendesk at the same time?

Yes. Inngame doesn't need to own your whole support. Its signed webhooks and REST API let you send conversations or events to another tool, and players keep using the chat inside the game.

Can I bring my Zendesk help center articles?

If they're public, yes: Inngame imports an FAQ from a page or a sitemap on your site, then you review it. The AI answers from that FAQ and players can search it in the chat.

Keep your help desk for email. Put support inside the game.
